Unit 12 Across the Generations

Zero Conditional

Is use  when we talking about things that are always true.
 In this topic is used If/When/Unless plus a present form PLUS present simple or imperative.

Some examples could be:

Unless you ask politely, the waitress ever will come.
Unless you be quiet, the movie never will start.
Unless the kids stop talking, the teacher will start the class.

First Conditional

Is use  to talk about future events that are likely to happen.

Some examples could be:

If you fight me, I will fight with you.
If you borrow me money, I will give you more.
If they never give up, they will be the champions.

Unit 11 "Innovate"

Present Passive

Is use when we consider that the result of the action is more important than the person who performs the action.

Some examples could be:

We produce cocoa in Mexico.
They use wood to make houses.
They make plastic toys in that industry.

Past Passive

Is use when we talk about discoveries, inventions of pieces of news.

Some examples could be:

The robber was arrested last month.
Apple was designed by Steve Jobs.
E=mc2 was created by Einstein.


Unit 10 "Party Animals"

Present Tense with future meaning 

 This topic includes Present Continuous (Progressive) that is use when we are talking about a plan or intention.
When we have the present progressive as future , the plans are arranged.

Some examples could be:

We are having a party next month.
I am giving a class next week.
You are giving up in 3 years.

The Simple Present is used for the future when we are talking about classes or transportation is wehen the action is nto undercontrol.

Some examples could be:

The train leaves at 5 o'clock.
The school starts 7o'clock.
The exam starts 5:30.

Modals: Could, Can, Will, Shall and May

Some examples could be:

Shall I open the door?
May I go to the restroom?
Could I help you?







Unit 9 "Our Planet"

May/Might

We use may and might to talk about what will possibly happen in the future but also mean maybe will.

Some examples could be:

I might have a gun in my house for security.
I may use these sweter because out is frezzing.

Will

We use will to make predictions about future.

Some examples could be:

I will be president of U.S.A.
The best phone will be Galaxy.

Going to

We use going to to make predictions about the future, when there is evidence.

Some examples could be:

The turtle is going to win because is fighting with a snail.
I am going to Paris this vacations beacuse I got good grades.

Present Progressive

 We use present progressive to talk about the future, we want to say that is a plan so it's not going to change.

Some examples could be:

They are having great reunion next month.
I am getting good grates on the 12th.

Weather

There are many ways to express the weather like: Raining, Stormy, Foggy, Sunny, Hailing, Cloudy, Snowy and Windy.



Unit 8 "Love and Romance"

Would Prefer/Rather/Like

We use would like to talk about our wants and desires.

Some examples could be:

I would like to eat a hamburger.
I wouldn't like to get bored in the library.
I would like to travel to Europe.
I wouldnt like to break your heart.

We use would rather or would like to talk aboutour preferences.

 Some examples could be:

I would rather live far the city because I hate noise.
I would prefer live in another planet.

Negative yes/no questions

We use negative questions when we want to check or confirm information.

Some examples could be:

Wasn´t he at Cesar Pallace hotel last night?
Didn´t you watch the scary movie?

Get

We used the verb get with some expressions to indicate the process of becoming but is used too for negative feelings or experiences.

Some examples could be:

I get sick at the party.
He get angry after the fight.


Unit 7 "A Question of Taste"

Too and Enough

"Too" is used to express that the amount or degree of something is more than necessary or acceptable.

Some examples could be:

The new iphone 6 is too expensive.
These hamburger and frech fries are too salty.
The road is too long for the oil we have.
The class is too boring in afternoons.

"Enough" is used to express that quantity is as much as you need to archive a particular purpose.

Some examples could be:

These food isn´t good enough to come back again!
I am ready enough to pass exams.
These icecream is cold enoughto eat it.
These program is great enough to see all day.

Much, many, a lot of, little and few

We use many and few for countable nouns, in many for negative and interrogative sentences and few for affirmative sentences.

We use much and little  for uncountable nouns, in much for negative and interrogative sentences and little for affirmative sentences.

We use a lot of for both things: Countable and Uncountable.

Some examples could be:

These market don't have many grapes.
My brother have few balls.
I need a lot of energy.
How much food do we have?
You have little water.

There are diferent forms of packaging:

Guinness cake

How to preparate a Guinness cake?
          
First, a skin of an orange is grated .
Then, the butter is melted over.
Next, in a bowl cocoa, flour, sugar, baking soda and orange zest are mixed well.
After, the cream and eggs are added, thoroughly the whole is beated, it is very uniform .
Later, in a bowl greased with butter is melted, for 45 minutes at 185 º C is baked.

Finally, a slice of pineapple on top and flaming rum are put, by some liquid chocolate, a scoop of vanilla ice cream are accompained and is ready for eat.
